I'm still not entirely sure what this platform is all about.
'Well, then, why are you even here?' I can hear many of you asking, some even at full volume, screaming at your monitor as if I can really hear you. Quite simply, I came here because of a friend. This friend had posted some content here, asked us to read it and possibly give it an upvote or two. Okay, easy enough, right? I mean, I know upvotes and how they work from my time on Reddit, and no, I will not share my username over there on this network. And thus, it was without any further thought that I bopped my little behind over here and set upon my task of upvoting.
Oh, wait. I can't. Not without an account. All righty then. Again, no biggie, I reasoned, and went through the process of creating my very own Steemit account.
I had forgotten about it entirely until I received the email that said my account had been created, and here I am today. I went through the basic FAQs and the white paper (oh man, I feel my eyes getting heavier just as the mention of 'white paper') and I'm still as confused as I was the minute I landed here.
Is this a blogging site? I guess it could be. Perhaps from time to time I may drop by and type up some content that I feel needs to be said, and maybe browse a post or two from some of the other authors. I really don't expect to develop an audience, and that's okay, because what I have to say may not be relevant, or coherent, or intelligent, but mostly not the last one.
But, if there's one thing I hate, it's setting up an account on a site such as this and not even posting so much as a hello. Which is what this is. Thank you for reading, or ignoring, as the case may be, and I'll try to stay out of your way.
