Hi Steemit! Another first post??

Hello Steemit community!

My name is Joel and I’m from Texas, USA. I’m really excited about this new platform/community. I found out about Steemit by doing a little investing in Cryptocurrencies and I think Steemit has a lot of potential and I’d like to be a part of it.

A little about me:

I love learning languages, traveling, meeting new people, and learning about other cultures. I’ve already learned Spanish as a second language (fluent) and have started learning Brazilian Portuguese.

I have the best job in the world – for me anyway. I teach conversational English on Skype to people all over the world. So I get to meet interesting people, speak with them and help them improve their conversational skills. I’ve been at it for over 6 years now and am so blessed to have come across this niche.

I was wondering… How can I combine my work and love of learning about other cultures and people on Steemit?

Well, I’m starting to write short articles or blog posts to give my students to read to practice their English and then discuss them in the class. I’m really interested in topics like current events, technology, politics, traveling, and different cultures and countries. So, I’ll be writing about these things, as they’re great topics for conversation.

I’m also looking to find interesting posts here that I can share with my students and hopefully make the Steem community grow even more! If you have anything you think would be interesting for international English students, let me know!
