ADHD is less common than you think.

“I bet your hyperactive son has no problem paying attention when playing video games.”

This video... it's so important. One selfish reason I wanted to start an academy is that I wanted to provide a learning system that works for young boys, who have been let down by traditional schooling for decades because it’s antithetical to everything about their growth.

I’ve seen boys at the academy and it’s amazing. They get to shout, run, and play. But you’ll also find them doing everything traditional educators wish they could get them to do, from reading books quietly to solving complex math problems (several grades above their level).

Because it turns out that instituting non-debatable, arbitrary rules and taking away any sense of autonomy and ownership from a population that is most likely to be low in agreeableness and high in extraversion is a recipe for disaster.

I think it's why the majority of parents applying to the academy are moms of young boys.
