Potash prices might finally be at a 10 year bottom

When investing I often try to look at macro trends of commodity's or securitys to profit on a bottom reversal. Once a commodity has bottomed to a support level where the market has enough support and the supply starts to go down the commodity price will often go back up in a reversal thus is where you have to watch closely to time the market correctly to be able to make a nice profit and sell when it goes back up.

I am keeping an eye on potash I think the commodity might finally be at a bottom or close to it. Potash has been in a 10 year down turn cycle of the commodity just going down. Once this commodity has finally found a bottom I plan to buy shares of company's that sell potash such as Potash Corp (POT) and Agrium Inc. (AGU).

Interesting, usually I just watch the metals. Might be time to widen my scope.

Why would you wait for price to drop then go long ?
(In this case) Why would you expect sales to increase when sales have been dropping (10 ?) for years. If organic growing was on the increase, sales would be going up. Not enough to stave off the decrees, so yes, sales is collapsing. Why would you think sales are going to increase, this IMHO is NOT a dead cat bounce ... Unless you have inside info or news of NEW uses for potash, this about to become a dead market. Imho ... If the trend is true, Short the stock til it is dead ... IDK lol I really have not done research on pot ash production, just from what little I actually know about it.

The price is dropping due to oversupply same as oil when the supply level goes down the prices go up which makes your profit margins better same with the oil companies

oversupply = decrease in consumption? Stock dropping trend for 10 yrs is a hint ...

Supply is stable and good according to this article but who knows. The price drop could be due to competition in the market and overabundance of supply etc.

Potash is fertilizer why would it suddenly cease to exist? Farmers use it

Farmers are a dying breed, most are corporate growers now .. not the same ... use different ferts, why sales are prob dropping ... I was commenting on why you would go long AFTER a 10 yr downtrend.

Maybe a macro trend reversal perhaps? Do your own DD. Fertilizer still has to be used to grow plants vegetables etc

potash is not THE ONLY FERT ... HAVE A NICE DAY

I didn't say it was sir.

I never said that you are putting words in my mouth. I never said the only fertilizer. Read up study do your own due diligence.

You said "potash is dead" when It is not just stating facts.

What would everyone eat if all the food supply suddenly dies off?

so really you just want to argue ... no thank you, this conversation has left the topic. I asked a simple question, no response ... thank you, have a nice day

Wtf your the one that wants to argue. If you don't agree that's fine.

It's called an investing stratagy you buy at the market bottom in hope that it will go back up or rise.

Nothing is an exact science
