Investing USA stocks

in investing •  7 years ago

Although it has not been older than South Korea, I have steadily invested in the United States for more than a year, and the profits are quite well.

The first time I invested in the United States, my favorite companies have become more popular now, I have put more weight on Korea

Let's talk about the strengths and weaknesses of US stocks,

  1. The price is relatively stable.

May be some people who can not agree, but in the experience I invested, the price is gradually and steadily moving than in Korea.

Of cource, that’s why i’m investing huge companies but even if you look at the actual charts the volatility is more stable.

This seems to be a lot of useful for those long-term investors like me. Depending on investment style, it can also act as a defect.

  1. Attractiveness of quarterly dividends To companies that give monthly dividends

People who receive dividends know how to feel when receiving dividends.

In the United States there are more companies with quarterly dividend payouts than annual dividends, some companies give monthly dividends, there are also cash flows.
Of course you shouldn’t invest only looking at dividends.

  1. Corporate shareholder friendly policy

There are many companies that are friendly to shareholders corresponding to the dividends mentioned earlier, which is different from Korean companies.

In Korea, as a shareholder I have invested in the United States, receiving a dividend quarterly although there are not many cases that I feel like the owner of the company

If you see that a company that earns much income will also repurchase treasury stock, the corporate culture will feel many differences,

  1. Exchange profit

This is the part that you have to be good at, but if the ratio of US and Korean stocks is close, it will be easier to see the foreign exchange profit.

I tried, but it was not easy.

To describe weaknesses

  1. Taxes(in the korea case)

The transfer income tax is deducted up to 2.5 million won per year, and the overdraft must pay 22% transfer income tax.

For this reason, it is more important that people who do not have US stocks earn once more than much taxes.

  1. Information and language issues

There are a few linguistic problems when living in non-English-speaking country, but I am also using translator like this:)

But there is no direct conversation, it is not a big problem.

And as I live in Korea, it seems hard to find a company to invest.

So, when I invest companies , I use stock searcher or invest famous companies

If you use American stocks well, you can get more opportunities.

I’m sorry to my english.
