Worldcoin has migrated to Ethereum 2.0 and will move to the new platform to prepare for the future. The team announced their decision on Twitter, saying that they are migrating to a new blockchain called Ethereum 2.0 and will be decommissioning Worldcoin on November 1st.
The development team also announced that they will be ditching Bitcoin as a means of payment and switching to Ethereum 2.0 as their main cryptocurrency instead. They hope this change will allow them to focus more on developing their platform, which has experienced numerous delays since its release last year.
Worldcoin's transition to Ethereum was first announced in March 2019 when the team released an update on their progress with the project, stating that they were working on a transition to Bitcoin 2.0 as a means of payment. However, at the time, there was no mention of when or how this would happen; now it looks like it is finally happening after months of delay.
