Goldmoney.com is an awesome concept and website I’ve come across thanks to the famous steemian @goldmatters. If you're a gold bug, or you're into wealth preservation, deflationary assets, precious metals, and that kinda stuff - you've gotta check out Goldmoney.
What is it, you ask?
Goldmoney is one of the easiest ways to invest in physical gold and silver bullion, palladium, as well as crypto assets, all online. They safeguard nearly $2 billion of assets for more than 1.5 million clients in 150 countries.
Think of it like your online bank account...
...but possibly way better.
It's part bank, part financial system.
Lemme explain.
Instead of your actual savings account being in fiat (like the Euro or US Dollar), your savings balance is actually made up of gold or whatever precious metals you own.
Goldmoney keeps your precious metals for you in a physical vault somewhere around the world.
If YOU want to hold it in your own badass vault, then they'll send you your gold in the form of a gold cube! Or a gold bar! I think @goldfashioned has a 10g cube, right? So if you're worried about if they actually send you your stuff, goldfashioned can re-assure you that they do!
Another cool thing is you can actually spend your gold with a Goldmoney credit card.
You know how it would be really weird to roll up into a store like Target and try to pay at the checkout with gold? They wouldn't even take it! Which, I mean, Target is kinda missing out...
...but with the Goldmoney card you can do that if you want WITHOUT getting laughed out of the store. Pay with gold like a boss.
I took a picture from this post by @welschstacker 'cause he did a good job of explaining it! I'm tryin' not to reinvent the wheel all the time.
If you know the history of gold, then you know it’s a safe alternative to fiat currencies. If everything goes bust, but you have gold in your hand, you'll have something of value. You don't have to worry about your $ being worth nothing like what happened to the currency in Zimbabwe and Venezuela for example.
Gold has always stood the test of time (despite any type of market manipulation).
I’m sure there are more features and account details to look into. So go ahead, look at all of the pros and cons on your own and make sure to always do your own research!
I'm jumping on the Goldmoney bandwagon though!
This has been overdue because @goldmatters sent a Goldmoney shirt that made it's way ALL the way to South East Asia about a week ago!!!
I've already had several adventures in my Goldmoney shirt that you'll be seeing shortly (yeah,so I maybe wore it 3 days in a row. Don't judge me).
Also, I'm sorry about the motorcycle hair.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SHIRT @GOLDMATTERS!!!! You are too awesome for words!!
P.S. If you want to know about the BEST gold investment jewelry out there, check out Mene (owned by Goldmoney):https://mene.com/invite/BQX3y
Goldmoney is my choice of storing my hard earned savings as it is outside of the banking system. 100% reserved and insured, unlike how banks operate. I was one of their first 50,000 users and now they have more than 1.5 Million users. Goldmoney is the place to be for those that understand how the monetary system operates.
Nice blog, always happy to see advocates of sound money which is what Goldmoney is.

It does sound like a good idea, but I just hate the thought of "spending" my Gold with a "card"... Once I get my hands on Gold, I never want to part with it... In my opinion, the Coin of the Realm will never again, be "backed" by Gold or Silver... Take another look at Common U.S. Coinage... On the other hand, there is a lot to be said about U.S. Crypto-Dollars and Cents...

I'm the same @pocketechange! I don't want to part with it either. People tend to think that fiat money is bulletproof and that's just not true. Always good to have gold with you, stored away, especially if things take a turn for the worst (on either a national or global scale).

It sure goes to say that we are at the verge of moving away from the conventional system of legal tender exchange.

Legal tender gold does exist (meaning no capital gains when you spend it), so I guess a more accurate description would be fiat monopoly money exchange lol

Yes its a great thing the gold in Goldmoney vaults are 3rd party audited and insured and that the company is fully transparent being publicly traded. All financials are disclosed as recently as last friday in the annual report, a well capitalized company with over $111 million in the bank and no debt, with nearly $2 billion client assets completely segregated from the Goldmoney balance sheet. Wink. Wink.
