The best investment we make on daily basis without appreciation and recognition

Let me explain
when we see a SALE in super market labelled as "Buy 2 coffee tins and get 1 free" so cant we count 'buying 2 coffee tins' as investment and 'Get 1 coffee tin Free' as our profit for the investment?

Also when we buy a vegetable in bulk knowing that after 2 months its going to increase in price. So cant our Buying price and storage space for the vegetable be considered as investment for the future?
