How many Iota's are their compared to Satochi's?
Hello everyone, this is my first post to Steemit. I just wanted to address a common misconception I always hear when talking about IOTA and why its not as heavily invested in as other coins.
I always hear, "Oh IOTA? Doesn't that have a kaZILLION coins? Its got too many coins for it to be {Insert whatever word you like here, see below for examples}"
- effective
- usable
- invest-able
- a coin that will give me the most profits on my investment.... etc etc.
I am here to debug that myth. I want to find out, just how many IOTA's there are when compared to BTC's satochi's.
Now onto the Maths:
BTC MAX = 21,000,000
BTC can go to 8 decimal points; i.e. 0.12345678
21,000,000,000,000,00
Shifting the commas;
2,100,000,000,000,000
Now onto IOTA:
MIOTA MAX = 2,779,530,283
MIOTA is a mega IOTA, thus,
MAX Supply is;
2,779,530,283,000,000
Comparing
BTC = 2,100,000,000,000,000
MIOTA=2,779,530,283,000,000
Difference:
679,530,283,000,000
Therefore; their are 680 trillion more IOTA's then their are Satochi's
To simplify results
Difference in Bitcoin:
6,795,303
Difference in MIOTA:
679,530,283
There fore; using BTC MAX = 21,000,000
If you increased this too = 27,795,303
Then you'd have the same amount of Satoshi's as Iotas....
Final Summary
As can be seen, if the maximum amount of BTC was 28 million, and not 21 million. Then the two coins would have the SAME amount of supply.
To me; this means they are very similiar, and I cannot fathom or see validity in the statements, "Oh IOTA? It has too many coins; it is unusable; un invest-able; etc etc"
Just my two IOTA ;)
