IOTA not decentralised?

in iota •  8 years ago

Hi fellow cryptocurrencies enthusiasts! I wanted to do a really quick post about something I came across.

I thought IOTA was decentralised, but apparently IOTA is not yet decentralised.  The transactions selected to validate other transactions are regulated central for now. So the whole idea of a decentralized system doesn't apply at the moment.  I felt like I had to share this because a lot of people that have invested in IOTA aren't aware of the that fact.

Let me know how you feel about the IOTA validation process not being decentralised yet and if you already knew this.  If there’s anything you would  like me to cover or to clarify just let me know in the comments. And of course if you have questions about IOTA or cryptocurrency in general let me know via a comment and I will do my best to provide you with the  best information I can give.

And if you're posting about IOTA or other cryptocurrencies as well please let me know I'm always interested in reading other posts about this subject.

If you’ve appreciated this post please don’t forget to upvote:)

All the best,

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

What I understood is that IOTA is not yet decentralized on purpose, as there is load of development ongoing, and 'they' - creators of the Tangle do not want to decentralize it before is running smoothly let's say 100%, as that is how is supposed to run. I am about to go to sleep now, so I cannot look for a source, but I am sure it is on one of their sites

I think you're absolutely right I've read something like that this week. It's a smart move to do so makes it a lot safer:)
