Another day, another suspenseful final act. This match, though, wasn't as chaotic as some of the first IPL 2023 matches. But Rahul Tewatia, the ice man, was still needed. Tewatia calmly collected Sam Curran's excellent delivery over fine leg with four needed off the final two balls to help Gujarat Titans defeat Punjab Kings by six wickets.
For a while, it appeared that the hunt would be simple. Titans were cruising, powered by a superb 49-ball 67 from Shubman Gill, after restricting Kings to 153 for 8 with an all-around bowling performance on a good Mohali surface.
Arshdeep Singh, though, bowled a calm penultimate over that went for just six with 13 needed off of 12 balls. Then Curran cleaned Gill.
