A study reported in Neurology found that certain jobs that involved mental challenges and demanded a more complex work with other people like social work, law, graphic designing and architecture, helped keep the brain sharp.
A 43-year-old man from Kolkata has secured the top spot in the IQ world test with a score of 148. Amit Sahai is a senior IT professional and sales head in one of India's most recognized audio products and solution firms in Kolkata.
Born and brought up in the capital of West Bengal, Sahai is now a member of the International High IQ Society and shares the spot with two Americans.
Sahai's remarks on his winning
After achieving such a prestigious status, Sahai proudly said that Indians have the potential to break his own record. Sahai added that he would feel great if an Indian defeats his score. "I believe that intelligence is a relative term and this was just a test score which can be beaten by anyone with the right aptitude. Indians have a very sharp mind and understand things faster," The Times of India quoted Sahai as saying.
A humbled Sahai further said that he was pleased to see his name on the list but there are a thousand others who have a higher IQ. It is just a matter of time to see when Indians achieve such heights on this platform, he added.
What is IQ World LLC?
A United States-based IQ Tests development firm called IQ World LLC (IQ World) offers services to several recruiting agencies and HR companies. These agencies, firms and schools use the IQ Tests to find the best candidates for their organisations. Interestingly, only 2 percent people are able to score an IQ above 130 in the world.
The process was started in 1973 and since then the IQ World LLC has been involved in developing personality and intelligence test for both private and public institutions. Moreover, people are also measured for their cognitive skills and intelligence levels on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS)
