BAGHDAD (Reuters) - On the repression and arrests continued on Sunday, demonstrations against the authority in Iraq, while the Interior Ministry announced that the death toll reached 104, accusing «malicious hands» targeting protesters, officials confirmed the killing of 5 demonstrators and wounding 17 others During protests east of Baghdad.

They said the militias were hunting and abducting the protesters, noting that there were 100 protesters.
Activist Hassan Ali told Al-Quds Al-Arabi that "security forces and militias arrested thousands of demonstrators and put them in prisons and detention centers because they were exercising their legitimate right to demonstrate peacefully and claim their rights."
According to the source «among those abducted by the militias more than 100 activists of the leaders in the demonstrations, their fate is still unknown, did not know where they are now».
In parallel, the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced the death toll of the protests. This came at a press conference for the spokespersons of the ministries of defense, interior, health and joint operations in Iraq.
Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Saad Maan said that the number of people killed in the protests reached 104, including members of the security forces, and the number of injured demonstrators and security forces reached 6107.
He said 51 public buildings and eight political party headquarters had been burned by demonstrators. He added «there are malicious hands behind the targeting of protesters, and investigations are continuing to reveal the identity of snipers who targeted demonstrators».

In a measure aimed at absorbing popular protests in Iraq and seducing protesters with some bribes, the Iraqi Council of Ministers decided on Saturday evening to grant 150,000 unemployed people who are unable to work, a monthly grant of 175,000 dinars ($ 150) per person for three months, The total amount of 5.78 billion dinars.
