Another "must to do" in Israel is go on a Boat Ride on the Sea of Galilee.
There are a number of boats leaving daily from Tiberias
Most of the time the Sea of Galilee is flat and tranquil.
However storms may form quickly.
We were told by a local guide, that because of the hot weather conditions experienced in this area and that the Sea of Galilee is surrounded by a ring of mountains, storms can form very fast as strong winds blow in from down the mountains and the air rises fast above the Sea of Galilee. This also causes strong currents to form in the water rising up from the bottom of the sea and flowing back down with such strength that it can suck small boats down to the bottom!
We were told that each year drownings happen because of this. The day we went it was peaceful and calm.

The boat we went on was like a party boat, with music and dancing all through the trip. The duration was about 2 hours and we came in after night fall.
Stilling the Storm
Jesus and his disciples boarded a ship to cross the Sea of Galilee. As they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep and a great storm arose. The wind blew and the waves covered the ship. Jesus' disciples thought they were going to be killed, so they awoke Jesus and cried" Master, carest thou not that we perish?".
Jesus said "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?"
"Then he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm".
When the storm ceased, the disciples were amazed and said, "What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
