A hidden treasure that we discovered in our travels in Northern Israel
Caesarea Philippi - Sacred place. An ancient town in Israel.
Situated between the norther shore of the Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon (the highest point in Israel)
This is a very sacred place as it was the scene of the Apostle Peter's testimony of the Lord's Messiahship and divine Sonship and where Peter was promised the Keys of the kingdom.
Caesarea Philippi is at one of the source of the River Jordan - Hermon River Spring - at the foot of Mount Hermon.
Clear mountain Water flows out of a spring forming the start of the Hermon River, which is one of the sources of the River Jordan.
There is a short hiking trail to the beautiful Banies Waterfall – however we were not able to go there. We had arrived on a Friday afternoon, near the start of Shabbat and everything closes early.
See Matthew 16:13-20
looks like you guys like travelling, thanks for the beautiful photos of Israel.
