Israel's gun control laws.

One thing that I didn't know about Israel -- in fact I was completely wrong about -- was that I assumed that Israeli soldiers (every Israeli adult) was allowed to retain possession of their firearms.

If there's one policy that Israel should change immediately, it's its gun control laws.

The entire nation has at least some firearm training, and is under constant threat of invasion.

Imagine how differently the last nine days would have played out if even 20 percent of Israeli civilians had a gun. Really, Israel should do something resembling Switzerland, requiring large swaths of their population to have guns so they're ready to join the fight if and when it happens.

The Kibbutz massacre wouldn't have happened if the citizens weren't legally disarmed.
