When you hear the word "Jerusalem" what pops up in your head?
For most people Jerusalem as a direct connection to religion, Jesus, the Western Wall etc...
But I am here to tell you that Jerusalem has more to offer than just his religious sites.
First of all, let's start with a little bit of history. Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world, Jerusalem was named as "Urusalima" on ancient Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets, probably meaning "City of Shalem".
significant construction activity in Jerusalem began in the 9th century and in the 8th century the city developed into the religious and administrative center of the Kingdom of Judah.
During Jerusalem's long history the city has been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times!
Jerusalem had the First and Second Temple (the holiest religious site for the jews) that was built by King Solomon. Moreover, Jerusalem is the third-holiest city, after Mecca and Medina according to Islam because of the al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition to that, Jerusalem has a religious significance to the Christians as well because of Jesus's crucifixion there.
