The Israeli military said it attacked the Syrian anti-aircraft position after an Israeli warplane came under fire. Syrian TV earlier stated that Israel had carried out a missile strike in Syria’s Quneitra province.
According to SANA, one officer was killed and two others were wounded in the attack on a military site east of Khan Arnabeh in Quneitra countryside. It added that Syrian air defense attacked an unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Syrian airspace near the southern suburb.
Israeli Defense Forces claimed that it was their jet making a routine flight in northern Israel that came under fire. The Syrian anti-aircraft missile had missed the warplane and it was able to complete its mission successfully.

A launch site responsible for the attack was identified on Syrian territory and hit by Israeli missiles in retaliation, the IDF said.
An IDF plane being targeted in Israeli airspace is a “a violation of Israeli sovereignty” in the Golan Heights by Syria, it said, calling the attack “abnormal.”
Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967. It has remained under Israeli control since then, despite the UN calling it an illegal annexation. In March, US President Donald Trump signed a declaration recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel, but the move sparked harsh international condemnation.
Israel have been frequently targeting Syrian military installation during the conflict in the country, saying that the bombings were aimed to deter Iran and Lebanese armed group, Hezbollah, who are the allies of Damascus in fighting the terrorists.

This is yet another proof, not only for the nature of the antisemitic Israel, but the incapability of Russian over 4 decades air defense systems delivered to Syria after more than 8 years of scheduled delivery. While at the same time Russia is offering what supposed to be the most advance system in the world to all of Syria's enemies including Russia's own enemies hoping to change enemies who are loyal servants of the USA to be pro Russian:

If we consider how capable Syrian Air-defence was with an ancient Soviet S-200, it's a great question what can be done using recently obtained S-300. If the rockets are right and/or if Syrian air-defence manage to "connect" all the systems with more advanced radars (*one fantastic Chinese model was the target during the latest large IAF raid) - that could change the game for IAF.
If we have learned something from the past, it's the fact that Israeli aircraft always come with something original, Six-Day War, the annihilation of AA defence in Lebanon, now this with Pantsir and radar...
