READ: Matthew 6:25-34
MORE LESSON: Philippians 4:6-8
The issues of our life lead to worry. Just as everyone has an issue, everyone worries. However, we should take note that worry does not add anything good to any one nor does it change anything; it doesn't change your circumstance or your trouble. In fact Jesus Himself asked, Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? Matt 6:2 7. This simply means that worrying does not make a situation any better. The only thing that worry changes in a man's life is his blood pressure. When you are worried your blood pressure goes high. I have discovered that worry will add nothing and it won't change anything. That is why you must overcome worry and take to the teachings of Jesus in Matt 6.
Jesus who is the Omniscience, the Word of God Himself, admonishes in Matt. 6:25, 31, 34, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. It is interesting that the instruction, 'take no thought' appears three times. This is not a coincidence at all. Repetition connotes emphasis and if the King of kings will repeat an instruction three times, then it means that we must be careful, and pay attention. Whenever a father says something over and over it is so that the child will understand and retain it in order to act accordingly. Jesus knows that worrying can change nothing except our blood pressure, to our disadvantage. He therefore admonishes us not to worry.
Whatever the challenge you are facing now, tell it to your heavenly Father who loves and cares about you rather than worry about it. Note also that worry can become a satanic tool to afflict you and that is when you notice that you worry about what does not exist; worrying for nothing. Sometimes it is being fearful without a cause. All these must be conquered by prayer, prophetic declaration from your mouth and increase your intake of the Word. Read more of the Word, think more of the Word and believe the Word and the Word will set you free.
