Beyond being the unofficial capital of Turkey, Istanbul is a glimmer of lights and glitter, an amalgam of streets with western buildings in the shadow of old houses, the mosques as you see with their eyes, the smell of coals in the air, and five prayers of prayer times a day. People of all colors gather here to enjoy the generosities of a generous, amazing culture through exuberance and color.

On the one hand, Istanbul shows its serious European face, with modern transport and chic restaurants, which invites tourists to indulge in the flavor of an exotic world. On the other hand, a "naughty" anarchical city is still coming to the surface, which hits you all the way with kitsch sovereigns, dazzling neon lights and brilliant firms at any hour of the day and night, ruleless traffic and noisy tourists .

Some impressions, in short:

  • mosques are numerous, and everywhere you look, you see a few minarets boasting proudly to heaven.

  • the architecture of the buildings in the center took me by surprise. I was expecting something more oriental, but I came across houses that made me even think of Nordic or Western European homes.

  • The old center is crossed by a tram line, so moving over longer distances is pretty easy. In addition, trams run at short intervals. 1 trip costs 3 Turkish Pounds (LT), and the tokens can be purchased from stations located in stations. The access system is similar to the subway, except that the stations are on the surface. As for transport, Ataturk Airport can take the metro and then the tram to the center.

  • the streets are narrow, twisted, full of cars and cars

  • Istanbul is the heaven of cats. On all streets the fat and fluffy feet walk quietly in search of something good to eat. I do not sit for a moment. Dogs have seen very few.
Bazaars can also be a source of gifts, be it the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, or smaller bazaars such as Arasta Bazaar, near the Blue Mosque. Sellers are more than open to negotiation, so you have the opportunity to put your persuasion skills into practice.istanbul-1976.jpgHagia Sophia and Blue Mosque in Istanbul - Turkey (night).jpga26.jpghagia-sophia-908504_640.jpg
