"It Did Occur," Says Reporter Who Accused Justin Trudeau Of Groping Her

A former journalist broke his silence on Friday by allegations that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau groped her nearly two decades ago, when he was not politically involved.
"I issue this statement unquestionably, in response to mounting media pressures that I was the reporter who was the subject of the Open Eyes editorial, published in the Creston Valley Advance in August 2000," Rose Knight said in a statement to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)

She was referring to the original Canadian report on the allegation, which said that Trudeau, who was 28 years at the time and not involved in politics, had been apologized to the reporter in question.

In that story he also was quoted as saying, "I never had been so forward"

Knight said she will not comment on further, according to CBC.

The statement came a day after avowed feminist Trudeau again defended himself against the allegation that he groped a journalist during a music festival in Western city of Creston, British Columbia in 2000.

"I do not feel that I acted inappropriately in any way, but I respect the fact that the different way that someone else has experienced," said Trudeau.

Trudeau asked why he wanted to open an investigation in the issue, on sexual assault.

He did not answer that question directly, but repeated many times that he did not act inappropriately.

Trudeau also stressed that "it's not just a side that matters" in such cases and that society should reflect on this issue.

"Often a man experiences an interaction as being benign or not inappropriate and a woman, in particular, a professional context, it is experience from different."
