In esso gli esseri inanimati sono personificati, sembra abbiano la fisicità degli esseri umani. A queste anime sensibili il poeta, il musicista, l'artista si rivolgono e vi instaurano un dialogo per farle parlare, per farle partecipare all'intimo travaglio o gioia di chi li celebra a mezzo di versi, note musicali, anche semplici pennellate.

Non c'è divario tra chi descrive e le cose descritte, che risultano diversificate solo perché fatte ora di caldi vaneggiamenti, ora di folle malinconia, spesso cupa ed infinita. Gli scrittori sono assillati dai dubbi la cui soluzione cercano interrogando l'animo umano e tutto il mondo, animato e non, con cui stanno a contatto. Anche nelle meravigliose armonie di Mendelsshon, di Beethoven, di Bach, non è assente la viva sensibilità romantica che si sprigionerà nelle note che animano il ritmo delle aree prescelte. Opere dunque, che privilegiano la fede nei valori più alti quali libertà, il passato, il genio individuale, l'adorazione della natura e di qualsiasi cosa esalti comportamenti spirituali ed umani. Non volendo rubare altro tempo, Francesca infine augura buon ascolto e invita i concertisti a dare inizio alle esecuzioni. Sin dalle prime note il silenzio è osservato. I presenti sono bramosi di sentire vibrare strumenti tanto reclamizzati dagli studenti. I pezzi vengono eseguiti con maestria e sembrano arricchiti di una sensibilità umana che rende la melodia stupefacente.Gli ascoltatori sono soddisfatti e lo dimostrano con un assordante battere di mani che si leva nell'"auditorium" dopo ogni esecuzione.Alla fine, tutti si alzano in piedi e applaudiscono ripetutamente. A questo punto un genitore chiede la parola, si fa portavoce di tutti gli altri e dice:"abbiamo assistito ad un evento fuori dal comune, culturalmente parlando. Ci auguriamo che l'episodio non resti unico". Viene rassicurato del contrario dal comitato degli studenti che si ritiene soddisfatto delle opere musicali eseguite e ascoltate con unanime grande attenzione. Intanto il concerto ha fine e Beba e Tony si avviano all'ingresso dove aspettano Francesca per porgerle i saluti e affermare l'ottima riuscita della cerimonia. La invitano, dunque, assieme alla figlia a recarsi con loro a visitare un agriturismo aperto da poco e fuori della zona. Sarebbero passati a prenderle a casa il giorno dopo.

Francesca dice di si ma a malincuore: si sente stanca per tutti quei precedenti preparativi per lo spettacolo, preferendo passare la domenica riposandosi. Tutte le operazioni compiute, in verità non semplici, se le sentiva ora sulle spalle: era vivo ancora in lei quel senso di super vigilanza perché il tutto avesse uno svolgimento alla perfezione. Tra gli invitati vi erano anche dirigenti di altre istituzioni, suoi colleghi, alcuni dei quali privi di ogni spirito d'iniziativa ma ricchi d'invidia per chi lavorava in modo diverso e che vedevano sempre i difetti degli altri, in specie se si trattava di donne, disconoscendo del tutto i propri. Non accettavano che altri pensassero di fare qualcosa di nuovo, che operassero in maniera innovativa e Francesca, pur tenendo conto delle loro opinioni e degli sciocchi risolini di persone cosi mediocri e inefficienti, non se ne preoccupava mentre la impensieriva la buona riuscita dello spettacolo, trattandosi di un avvenimento desueto in un istituto tecnico. Ma i risultati erano stati superiori alle aspettative e la sua mente la riportava ai musicisti che avevano dato il meglio di sè e al pubblico che sembrava stesse in una chiesa mentre nessun segno religioso pendeva dai muri ad indicare l'adempimento di una silenziosa soggezione. I passi ovattati degli interventi, sembrava si muovessero in un luogo consacrato. Quel silenzio profondo, insomma, commuoveva e decretava, al tempo stesso, anche il successo.I risultati ottenuti evidenziavano come uscire dal potenziale grigiore di una scuola frustrata perché condizionata anche dalla qualità del lavoro spesso assai carente di alcuni suoi operatori. Questi ultimi, spesso si limitano a promuovere qualche inaugurazione, qualche inaugurazione, qualche "cineforum" mediante i quali, purtroppo, sottolineano la marginalità delle loro prerogative e del loro merito per ciò che concerne il livello professionale. Greta, molto decisionista, ha optato subito per una tuta di lana color tortora, con sopra un giaccone impermeabile nocciola foderato di "ocelot". Il suo viso, senza ombra di trucco, la rende simile ad una statua; ma una statua che si muove e, muovendosi mette in evidenza l'eleganza del suo stile, rafforzativo della sua risolutezza, di quell'impassibile sicurezza di sè che accrescono notevolmente il suo potere di seduzione.Alle ore 12 in punto, gli amici si presentano per proseguire, insieme, verso il luogo stabilito.
