Italy are looking for imaginary strings of hope to reach the World Cup

The Italian fans are still amazed at the fact that the Azturians have not qualified for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia next summer, and they have joined in the hopes of participating in the tournament.

The Italian press struggled to search for gaps that enabled the Italian team to join the list of qualifying to Russia.

The newspaper "Toto Sport" belonging to the city of Turin, a paragraph in the laws of the International Football Association "FIFA", which can participate in the tournament.

According to the seventh clause of the World Cup qualifying rules, "If a qualifying team withdraws to the finals for any reason, FIFA may choose an alternative team without resorting to new qualifying qualifiers."

FIFA will then choose a team with the highest ranking in the list of teams that have failed to join the qualifying group.

The newspaper cited what happened at the 1992 European Nations Cup, when Yugoslavia withdrew for political reasons, to qualify Denmark instead of winning the title amid the astonishment of followers.

But the chance for Italy is virtually non-existent, with Toto Sport thinking of the possible withdrawal of one of the participating teams for political reasons, and focusing on South Korea, which has strained the relationship with their northern neighbor to a large extent recently.

The paper considered that there are other countries at risk of political differences and wars, the most important of which are Nigeria, Iran and Senegal, and put two Arab candidates on the list, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

It is interesting to note that if this security is indeed achieved, and a team withdraws from the finals, Italy will not receive a card that qualifies for the finals according to its current classification.

Italy are 15th and Chile and Wales are in the top 10. Peru are in 10th place ahead of the return leg in the final against New Zealand, with the first game ending in a goalless draw.

Ironically, these arguments, if anything, show the shock the Italians are currently facing.

The most pessimists did not imagine that Italy would fail to reach the finals for the first time since 1958, although the qualifiers and their long history have deprived other teams from qualifying for the tournament over the years.

Instead of looking at the reasons for the failure, the Italian fans continue to be disappointed with the fact that Italy remains a superpower in the European and international leagues and is not qualified for the finals
