Italy: Did u know...?

Did you know that Friday the 17th is a unlucky day in Italy?

This has to do with the write mode of 17 in Roman numerals. which is XVII.
This is a anagram of ' VIXI ', which is Latin for ' I have lived '.

"In today's Italian is that vissi, in the Passato remote, to indicate that life is completely closed".
Therefore, the number 17 in Italy is associated with death.

As in many countries the number 13 is avoided (among others in hotels) !

So it happens in Italy with the number 17: The Renault 17 is called R177.
The airplanes of Alitalia do not have a chair 17.
And Napoleon, who was influenced by Italy by his birth in Corsica, refused to battle in Brumaire on Friday 17 !!!!
