Ulog #3: Hangout With @preciousimo and @surpassinggoogle on Naijapidgin Discord Channel

The best and most common advice given to you as a minnow on steemit is to join a community. Joining a discord server enables you to grow and broaden your horizon on this platform. I heeded this advice and it has been a ride filled with fun and knowledge. I have joined channels/community that has been useful and one of such is the @naijapidgin channel.

As usual I received a notification on my phone concerning @preciousimo’s show which was to take place last night by 8:00pm on @naijapidgin channel. I checked the show post to see what it was about and noticed a promise of a fun filled night.5minutes into the show, I started seeing comment about @surpassinggoogle joining the show. I have heard his name been mentioned a lot in the communities I am, especially about the #ulog project. After then I know next to nothing about him.

Our topic for the night was fear and I listened to the host @preciousimo talk about it in details. He then made it an interactive session so we the listeners can join in discussing our fears. Right on the dashboard, @surpassinggoogle and @ogoowinner popped in reliving the fears we Nigerians face on the daily. It was actually hilarious because I have never expected such humor from someone like him “a big community leader/witness”. We had people like @itoroarchibong who was our muse for the night ask him meaningful questions and @julietisreal share her fearful robbery experience.

After several bants from the listeners like @yungchief entertaining @surpassinggoogle with his hilarious recitation, @segunreus displaying his naija talent,@dklef and I testing our vocal cords..lol. When he finally got down to give us tips on successful steeming, his voice came in like a calm after a heavy storm. He then launched into his steemit journey. He touched on important points we minnows face on the platform.

He mentioned that steeming is not about money alone but that it also helps the journey. Most of the things you have and count as valuables are your strong points. They are the things that you should hold strong and see as vision. Your suffering should have essence and your tears should have value. We all have substance in us and something great to offer.

Terry also talked about we ladies.saying ;

How the natural charm within us cannot be tamed by no power on earth. Do not lose your shine, my parents lost their shine because of many factors that didn't favor them.

He was emphatic with his steemit vision, stating the fact that even with all the challenges he is facing, he still has an emphathy towards the human race. So much pain in a young soul/body yet he is not discouraged from doing and acting positively and selflessly.

Our 2hour lecture lasted till the wee hours of the morning. He entertained us with jokes and songs. It was an all round fun.
