....if so I'm interested to hear what, if any , communities you use to chat with other folk in the profession.
I've been working in Service Management for nearly 10 years and am amazed at the perceived lack of active and useful communities. That sounds a bit harsh but I'm still to find THE community that I find a truly useful source.
I was a member of ITSMF (IT Service Management Forum) UK for a period of time but found this to be of little value to me. Don't get me wrong delivered value but I struggled to get days out of the office to attend many of the events. In addition I had to cover any costs and some events were very expensive. One of the items which drew me to the ITSMF was the existence of a forum; a place to discuss, debate and understand the views of others in the profession. Disappointingly there is very little activity on the forum.
I tend to keep myself going on a small number of blogs these days but its not the same as a good active forum.
This sounds like something that should be on Linked In. I am in some groups there, but don't really use them. Of course most people are on Facebook. Maybe when Steemit gets communities you can start one here.

Discussion groups in LinkedIn are quite limiting in my experience. I've asked 'stuff' on there and have been received responses regarding it not being a social network - go to Facebook.
Can't win 'em all but can certainly try them.
