Rain a fall and breeze a blow ! Greetings reggaemuffins! How things ? How are you on this fine Xmas Eve? It’s yours truly Missaj the Jamaican foody!
This time of year , many Jamaicans from the diaspora take a trip to visit Yawd. I have not done so in well... over a decade. However, yesterday I took a trip to Jamdung.
I went shopping for some products to make a nice Christmas dinner at a nearby shop then decided to catch dinner inna Jamdung. They seem to be doing well inspite of the Covid situation and closure of nearby restaurants. They seem to still have events on the weekends too.
I sat around their tables which bears the shape of Jamaica and decided to eat curry chicken, rice and peas with a side order of jerk in the central parish of Manchester (Galchester)
As I enjoyed my meal - the Rasta bredrins were running a boat in a gasoline cylinder remodeled to be a big rahtid pot! They were partaking in some serious cart wheel dumplings.
I caught a glimpse of a fond boyhood memory when I saw the “Love bird in the sky” also known as Air Jamaica.
Below her wings were some serious heavy duty sound boxes - which filled the air with sounds of my childhood days.
I felt like I would get up and buss a move but for fear of spilling my rice or getting a “Bun out” from the Rasta brothers passing the ting on the left hand side I held my seat and plate. The vibe was right and I had to finish with a glass of whites or was it brown ? Hmmm... who knows. What happens at Jamdung stays on the ground. Here’s wishing you seasons greetings from the Land of the rising sun to wherever you are on the world map. Happy holidays.
Next stop - Jamdung! It’s Christmas JA!
