Hello it's me again, with this third part about Rocksteady</b, with another one of the bands that sounded a lot with this musical genre in Jamaica and then in other countries.

I already introduced you in the previous post to The Maytals, now it's The Paragons, from the other group, I didn't find any data, so this will be the last of this series of post about Rocksteady.

The Paragons is another band native to Jamaica specifically from Kingston, this band was created during the 1960s.
Like any band, group or singer, they have or had a song or musical theme, which was their success and The Paragons' most famous song, "The Tide Is High".

It was written by John Holt one of the members of the band. This song has been heard in two versions, by other groups and with both reached No. 1 in some charts of popular music.

What if we listen to this success, while they continue reading my post.

The original group was formed by Garth Tyrone Evans, Bob Andy, Junior Menz and Leroy Stamp. The latter was replaced by John Holt and Howard Barret to Junior Menz, these changes occurred in 1964.

In 1964 they met with a music producer who had a record label this was called Duke Reid, they liked his musical material, with him they released some singles under the record label Treasure Isle.

This record label not only collaborated with this group but with many others who played Rocksteady.

This band The Paragons, some of their tracks had Soul sound, an American sound.Bob Andy left the band, later the band left the soul sound to become the most popular rocksteady band in Jamaica.

But as everything is never easy there is always something that goes wrong or because of economic disagreements, the band disintegrated in 1970.
From this band, only John Holt went on to have a musical career as a soloist.

So far the mini series of post about the Rocksteady and some of those bands that played it, bringing joy where it was heard and danced too.

I leave you another video with a musical theme of The Paragons, while I will continue studying the musical history of Jamaica, to bring you another musical genre. Without first thanking everyone for their comments that encourage me to continue publishing and as reporters here in my country Venezuela said: "" with you another special report @zhanavic69 until the next ".
