English publication Sky Sports compiled a list of players that have cost the highest in combined transfer fees, such as Lukaku, who recently entered the top 10 when he signed for the Red Devils.
Chelsea are believed to have spend around £12.75 million (R207m) on the player when he joined from Anderlecht in 2011, while Everton paid £30.06 million (R518m) to lure him to Merseyside three years later, before securing his big move to United for a reported fee of £75 million (R1.2bn).
Angel di Maria’s move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2015 saw him become the most expensive player of all-time in combined transfer fees, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gonzalo Higuain trailing him.
James Rodriguez follows Lukaku in fifth place, but he could climb the order if Bayern Munich make his loan-spell permanent at the end of their two-year deal.
Nicolas Anelka sits at sixth on the 10-man list, with former Premier League striker Hernan Crespo behind him.
