Hey there,
I decided to throw in some of my travel impressions from Japan and maybe all over the world (as soon as I get my ass up, to conquer this world again). Some pictures are just taken with my smartphone, other times I will post pictures taken with my DSLR. Feel free to leave me a comment and if you like what I post here, I would appreciate a upvote really much. Much thanks!

Todays post is about some pictures I have taken during some travels here in Japan. They all are showing some impressions from Japanese old style hotels, so called ryokan (旅館) and in fact, all of them were onsen (温泉 - hot spring bathes) hotels in areas famous for their hot springs. I am sorry, but I just have some room insights, still I think it is quite interesting to see how these rooms look like. I will try to take new pictures on my next travels so that I could show a bit more about these kind of hotel type.

Following pictures were taken in an old ryokan in the city Matsumoto.

What I espcially love about ryokan is that they try to conservate the old architectural elements of traditional Japanese houses, with their tatami and all this wooden elements. Not to forget about the Japanese style sliding doors.

Following pictures were taken in Hokota, a city near Mito, in Ibaraki-ken.

These last three pictures were taken in a really big hotel complex and in fact it was not a real ryokan, but it had room types in ryokan style and western style which you can choose. Also the corridors and entertainment areas are in this traditional style.

If you have questions about Japan, feel free to ask me, I try to answer them as good as possible. I am not a Japanese, just living in Japan at the current state.
