**Kanazawa Castle housed a 15th century feudal lord that controlled most of Japans wealth and people. This catle has been rebuilt a couple of times due to fire, and now is a Tourist attraction run by the government.
If you visit Kanazawa make sure you check out the castle, and if you do across the road is some of best Japanese gardens you could ever hope to see and it is actually Kenrokuen Garden that rated in the top three in all Japan.

These amazing gardens feature huge trees supported by bamboo poles to stop the branches from breaking under the weight of snow in winter. The huge lake is feed from a river a kilometre away using an amazing system of hydo engineering that was designed and built in the 16th century, and is lifting the water an to an elevation of around 150 meters above the source.
This wonderful garden has islands and bridges and many features that are used in Japanese garden design
still today. This water fountain is driven from water pressure of the lake above and has no pump.
Kanazawa Castle is huge and has some of the largest timber supports of any building in Japan. The family that lived there ruled most of Japan for over 3 centuries. Kanazawa has some of the best seafood restuarants and make sure you try the Sushi too.
