Hi guys. My busy season continues, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I remain hopeful that I can resume posting more often soon. In the meantime, I wanted to share a cool animated gif of yokai that I came across today.
What's a yokai? Yōkai is a Japanese word that refers to supernatural creatures: ghosts, demons, spirits, and so on. Typically the Japanese lore kind, but I've seen the word used to refer to supernatural creatures from other countries too. At any rate, yokai can be evil, more neutral, tricksters, or even good. It's a pretty big category. These days these is a popular anime called Yokai Watch, so if you have kids you may already have heard the word.
Anyway, with that out of the way, here's an amazing animated gif from @pixeleyebat.
