Shinjuku's Kabukicho Japan

in japan •  6 years ago  (edited)

A night view of Shinjuku. We were heading into Kabukicho on the way to Golden Gai. Both areas are very famous in their own way.

Kabukicho was, and to a degree still is, the seedy part of Shinjuku. It has changed quite a bit over the years, but there are still plenty of dodgy characters and venues. Whereas Golden Gai has remained the same for a long time. It's a few streets lined with tiny bars that hold around 10 people max. Both are uniquely Japanese and worth a visit.

Friend I would like to visit someday Japan, I like their technology, unfortunately the purchasing power does not allow me and I believe that I can never fulfill that dream. The way of reconstruction of that country after a war shows how big and interesting its people are. Sorry for any mistake I'm translating

Greetings, the photos are very good, the place has a resemblance to Times Square in NYC, as a shopaholic, the first thing I saw is the duty free shop, Don Quijote also stands out, maybe it's a Latin restaurant, I'm guessing.

But undoubtedly that image shows people, energy, light and metropolis. Some love tranquility others like me the charming chaos of a great city.

Thank you for sharing.

@fjmm, this is but one small area of one city in the Tokyo Metropolis. There are many of these streets in each city similar to Times Square.

Yes, the tax free shops are everywhere now trying to attract tourist shoppers.

Don Quijote is actually a variety shop that carries a little of everything, from household goods, to electronics to food.
