Sixteen Arhats in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan

A memorial service for the fishermen who lost their lives in rough seas and prayers for safety at sea
It was completed in 1864 by the 21st chief priest of Kaizenji after 5 years of work.

After that, the priest threw himself into the sea beside him to become a guardian Buddha himself.
