Expensive Japanese Apples

in japan •  7 years ago

In Japan fruit there is not awhole lot of variety in fruits that are available to purchase as historically there have not been alot of fruits grown in Japan. This lack of variety in fruit is only made worse by the fact that the fruit that is available is very expensive. As fruit is such a luxury item in Japan you will often see different fruit items meticulously packaged and presented in the best condition possible. So while at the local supermarket I saw some perfect looking and very expensive apples packaged with cushions and wrapped in plastic selling for about $6 each!
