Kotohira end of summer festival
This festival is held in August, its more of a parade and hundreds of locals dress in traditional costumes and re enact the past. The festival is held at night and is poorly lit with just street lights and fire torches that the paraders carry. This first set of photos shows just before the main events.
Most of the street in cordoned off to separate the audience from the festival, many people set up their own seating and wait for the vent to start. The festival parade starts at the edge of town where they make they up to a temple near the top of a small mountain.
There was not a lot of lighting and I didn't bring my flash but i feel i got some decent photos at high iso.
The last picture is of the beginning of the parade and groups of men dance with spears which is supposed to be a drunken song and with a drunken dance
