My recommended animation is "Kino No Tabi -the Beautiful World-". The original is YA books of "Dengeki Bunko". It has been published since 2000 and continues now. It was animated in 2003 and 2017. This time, the animation I'll introduce is the work of 2003!

・This is a story that travelers "Kino" and motorcycle "Hermes" visit various countries.

Animation for adolescent children

When I first watched this animation, I thought that the word "deep" would fit this animation. because, I had never watched animation that needs to think after finishing watching. First of all, as a theme to be handled, there is a satire to the modern society (irony). The most impressive words for me is after "Kino" said "What does it work for?". And the citizens of the country answered like this."I am working to get stress." Also, the point that "general common sense does not work" is also interesting. Countries that appear in "Kino No Tabi" have rules and values completely different from each other. For example, it is the same as the difference between America and North Korea. Friction caused by differences in rules and values will cause conflicts and unfortunate results to happen. So "Kino", a traveler, will solve the problem? No, "Kino" respects being a traveler and often does not interfere. There are many parts that are not clear as a story (in good terms), I think that you leave room for thinking. I feel that the range of thinking has expanded by seeing this animation. I believe that this animation will nurture the ability to think independently on common sense, so it is recommended for sensitive children. Of course, it is an animation to consider, so it is also recommended for adults.

BGM and Dialog is minimum possible. Not an addition animation, It is subtraction animation.

Performance of animation is atmosphere like NHK.(This is my subjectivity. ha ha.) In this work, in most cases, BGM does not flow.Possible reasons are: One by one of Dialog is to the point. So, BGM is not necessary, we don't feel slowly. Instead, sound effects and environmental sounds are of high quality. Especially the operating sound of the motorcycle. This uses the operation sound of "Brough Superior SS100" also called "Motorcycle's Rolls Royce". this motorcycle is worth about 30 million yen in an auction. The same also applies to dialog, it seems there is no extra speech.(Motorcycle "Hermes" is quite noisy. :D) Anyway, this animation is very quiet. Director's performance of this work is very cultured. Like "serial experiments lain". I can recommend it as an animation that I see alone in the middle of the night.

僕のおすすめのアニメは『キノの旅-the Beautiful World』です。原作は電撃文庫のライトノベルで、2000年から刊行されており、現在も続いている作品です。アニメ化されたのは2003年と2017年で、今回僕が紹介するのは、2003年の方です！

簡単な紹介

・旅人のキノとオートバイのエルメスが、様々な国を巡る物語。

・基本的に１話完結の形式。（毎回、異なる国についての話）

・訪れた国には独特の文化や価値観があり、旅人であるキノがそれに関わる事をきっかけに、物語がはじまる。

思春期のお子さんに見せてあげたいアニメ

このアニメをはじめて観たとき「深い」その言葉がぴったりだと思いました。というのも１話完結という時間的制約の中で、観終わった後にここまで考えさせられたアニメは他になかったからです。まず、扱うテーマとして現代社会への風刺(皮肉)があります。ぼくが一番印象に残った言葉は「何の為に働くのか？」とキノが問うと「ストレスを得るためだよ。」とその国の国民が返した言葉です。また、"一般常識が通用しない"という点も面白いです。『キノの旅』で登場する国は、それぞれの国によってルールや価値観が全然違います。アメリカと北朝鮮くらい違います。そのルールや価値観の違いによる摩擦によって、争いが生まれたり、不幸な結果を招いたりと色々起こってしまいます。そこで、旅人であるキノが間を取りもって問題を解決するのか。と思いきや、あくまでキノは旅人であることを重んじ、干渉しないことが多いです。物語としてはすっきりしない部分が多く( 良い意味で)、あえて考える余地を残していると言ってもよいでしょう。僕はこのアニメを観たことで、考え方の幅が広がった気がします。常識にとらわれずに自ら考える力を養えると思うので、感受性豊かなお子さんにオススメです。もちろん考察しがいのあるアニメですので、大人にもオススメです。

BGMとセリフは最小限に。足し算ではなく引き算なアニメ。

アニメ全体を通して、NHKのような雰囲気です。(これは僕の主観ですがw)
というのも、ほとんどBGMが流れません。考えられる理由としては、ひとつひとつのセリフが的を得ていて、間延びすることが無いため、BGMが不必要なのだと思います。その代わりに効果音や環境音は拘って作られています。特にオートバイの動作音。これは「バイク界のロールスロイス」とも呼ばれるブラフ・シューペリアSS100の動作音を用いています。ちなみにこのオートバイはオークションで約3千万円の価値がついたとか。
セリフについても同様で、余計なセリフがないように思えます。(オートバイのエルメスは結構うるさい)とにかく、このアニメはとても静かです。『serial experiments lain』というアニメもそうでしたが、この監督の演出はとても渋いです。夜中にひとりで見るアニメとしてオススメできます。
