I used to work on a horse ranch in the mountains. There were many rice farmers around and a large amount of grain-based food was always stocked because sometimes the farmers suddenly look after someone else's horses were ordered.
For these reasons, rats bred on a regular basis, but there was a special remedy for that. Farmers set a trap for a large number of rats (although it was a fraction of the whole), and then when rats got caught in the trap, they started torturing and killing them at once in front of the stables. Several rats caught in the basket trap were chosen and tortured just before their death, then cut off their penis and missed to the stables.
I've done that twice during the time I worked there. This worked actually really well. A few days later, I'll be missing rats.
The most frightening thing is that the rat torture party was "very fun". At the time, I didn't feel any cruelty at all. Of course, when I was first told about rat torture, I didn't want to do it. However, unfortunately, before the first torture party, I was seriously intent on killing the terrible rats which caused great damage, and I participated in the torture with excitement.
The second time, every time I got frustrated with the damage of rats, the time when I was able to de-stress became extraordinary fun and we even added new torture such as electro torture.
And I was not the only one. The senior of the woman who is usually reputed to treat the guest of the horse riding experience kindly, the senior who taught incompetent me stable works with great attention to detail and that senior who usually silently, but raised his voice which sounded up to the mountain while the training of the rampaging horse, all of them were burning and blaming the rats with a sly expression.
This is a story of long ago, and I heard that the horse ranch went out of business and the seniors scattered to another ranch in various places, but I wonder what everyone is doing.
