Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) has recently made an announcement regarding the formation of National Testing Agency (NTA). The competitive exams conducted by CBSE will now be organized under the supervision of National Testing Agency (NTA). The newly formed NTA will conduct Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main), National Eligibility Test (NET) and National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) exams conducted on National Level from the session of 2019. Union MHRD Minister Prakash Javadekar announced NTA Exam schedule on 07th July 2018. NTA will also conduct Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). Advantages of NTA 2019
National Testing Agency has been formed by MHRD for the conduction of National level cometitive exams namely JEE Main, NEET, NET, CMAT and GMAT. With the latest issues of paper leak, the idea is to maintain the confidentiality of the exams. The advantages of NTA will be seen in certain segments such as in minimizing the incidences of paper leak, making the examination fully secure and computerized, the purpose to make the examination conducting body more accountable towards the students and the exams orgamized, making the exams more efficient with International standards of assessment, to create and make a student friendly, open, scientific and leak proof system.
Changes introduced in NTA JEE Main and NEET 2019
• The exam will be condcuted online and will be a computer based test.
• JEE Main and NEET will be conducted twice in a year.
• JEE main will be conducted in January and April while NEET will be conducted in February and May.
• The exams will be conducted on multiple dates providing options to the candidates to select the date as per their preference.
• Students can appear for the exams both the time or can opt for one attempt.
