PepeCoin Lead Dev Proposes Hard Fork After Millions Stolen by Ex-Teammate

The lead developer of the recently talked about cryptocurrency PepeCoin, which is popular among 4chan users, has proposed a hard fork after the currency was stolen by one of his teammates.

The team proposes splitting the existing blockchain into his two parts. One with all the stolen funds remaining, and a clone of the chain with only the funds transferred. So if someone tries to transfer money from the old chain to another chain, they lose the money.

The proposal comes after an investigation into how a former teammate was able to steal millions worth of Pepecoin from the team's wallet. An investigation revealed that he had accessed all wallets on the team's computers and used them to withdraw coins without anyone noticing until it was too late.
