Today I watched the video message of Jeopardy host Alex Trebek revealing to the world that he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. And the reason that I am talking about it now and sharing the story is because I found his message to be rather inspiring.
In his message he says:
"Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer,... Now, normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working, ”
After hearing about his news and seeing his strength and optimism in looking ahead toward his journey to overcome this illness, it has only inspired me to remind myself to try and do the same when facing difficulties in life. When dealing with a health crisis like cancer or any other illness, it can be very easy to become depressed and negative, and this can make it all the more difficult to try and recover and fight back against the illness.
"...with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rates statistics for this disease." - Alex Trebek
The Power Of Positive...
Previously, an Israeli study concluded that positive emotions might be powerful enough to even shrink cancer tumors.
And other similar research on this topic has also come to the same conclusion, in discovering that for individuals who are optimistic about the recovery after they are injured have been found to recover much faster than those patients who are less optimistic about the recovery process and overall situation.
Sometimes it feels like it can be difficult to stay positive in the midst of trials and suffering but if remaining positive can help to possibly impact the chances of success for recovery, then it's definitely worth a try. Of course, positive thinking alone isn't a cure-all solution, though past research indicates that it might be vastly more beneficial than we think it is.

an excellent way to live by and one I actually encourage my Father pretty regularly to live by, since he was only last week diagnosed with the big C.
Cancer is going to get us all eventually with the utter saturation of our environments with toxins... and RF

Alex is in Jeopardy! Sad to hear his prognosis, but good to hear he is positive. If anyone can prevail, it will be him.

Hey doitvoluntarily, I so agree with being in control of one's health and healing. We hold a lot of power and it has so much to do with attitude. .. Like Buddha's 8 fold plan - Right thinking, Right feeling, Right attitude, Right eating, Right exercise - I am adding my own here, lol.
