Jerboas are rodents with a very long hind legs just like a kangaroo. They are called bi-pedal because they are only using those hind legs for their mobility like jumping and walking.
They can leap as high as three meters so it is their way to evade predators because of their fast movements with regards to their powerful hind legs. Their movements are unpredictable because they travel in a zigzag motion so that it confuses the predators who wants to catch them for a meal.
In the other hand they use their short front forearms to grab something or to use for eating their foods. They also use their arms and hind legs to burrow in the sand or rock crevices so that the can escape from the heat and cold of the arid desert air.
Jerboas are really adaptive to the desert sands because they have folds in their nose and special hair on their ears to block sand particles.
They also can do without drinking as they can get moisture from young shoots of grass and roots and also moisture from seeds that they eat. They minimize their respiration, perspiration, urination, and defecation for that matter. They are truly a wonder of the desert because of their adaptive traits to survive the very harsh climate and condition of the desert.

Jeroba use dust bathing as a means of chemical communication via pheromones. Rights
