A strange story that i could never forget !!

Back in 2013, i was playing guitar with my friend and usualy when i forget my guitar pick i take my sim card and play with , so in that day i forget it and i asked my friend to give me one of his, but he said that he lost all his picks. i asked him again to give me a sim card instead if there is one, and that's what he did he gave me an old sim card.
so we played together that night and when we finished i gave it back to him but he won't take it and he said "just keep it with you in case, i don't need it "
when i came back home, i put it in a small case where i keep all my souvenirs .
so the days passed, the years passed, and one day i was looking at this small case to refresh my memory, i picked up this sim card and i tried to plug it in my phone to see if it's still working, i was just curious. so that's what i did i plug it in and turned on my phone .. and in that moment the magic happened, after one or two minutes, the phone rings.
I was shocked, frozen in my place, didn't know what to do at this moment . but i took a deep breath to gather my strength and i decided to answer the phone and that's what i did.
it was his mum, she was coming back from dubai and she was asking about him to see if he is at home because she has just arrived to airport and she didn't have the keys. and i said okey i'll check out where he is right now and will ask him to call you back. then i got out of home and walked into my friend's house. i found him there.
but when i told him about what happened he could not believe it? his mind blown up, he start laughing so loud. and he said that he had a problem with his phone it turns off randomly. so he calls here back.
i still can't understand what did happen here :

1 - I kept the sim card with me for about three years before that. and in the moment where i plug it in the phone rings.

2 - His mother didn't had her home keys so my friend should be at home.

3 - She calls his old phone number !!!!
