Jesus and the kingdom: Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me. Mark 9:37

Jesus constantly taught us that the thoughts of men are different from the thoughts of God. Seeking the Kingdom of Heaven, the dominion or empire of the divine excellencies, means submitting all our thoughts, words, and actions to the wisdom that comes from above; and whoever does this fulfills a mandate from Christ: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48.
If we want to know Jesus and see the world with the eyes of God, we must abandon the desires directed towards apparent goods such as honor, money, and fame because these goods, being scarce, are the reason for fights between men. The true goods are the spiritual goods like mercy, the spiritual love (Agape), and the fear of God.
Living the gifts, living in the grace of God means, first of all, not looking for the first places but putting ourselves at the service of others, for this reason Jesus gives children as an example, they need our help and our attention, and the only thing they can give us in return is their love. Contrary to what a proud or vain person may think, in the Kingdom of God, the humble and simple come first, the orphans, widows, the elderly and the sick.
With a very simple teaching Jesus taught his disciples to seek humility above all things, who receives a dispossessed brother also receives Jesus:
"They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, ´What were you arguing about on the road?´ But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, ´Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.´
He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, ´Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me´" Mark 9:33-37.
