Salvator Mundi: Is this a painting of Jesus or Cesare Borgia ?

This is the painting by Leonardo Da Vinci made in the year 1500 called Salvator Mundi: Saviour of the World.

Salvator Mundi is a painting of Christ as Salvator Mundi (Latin for Savior of the World) by Leonardo da Vinci, dated to c. 1500. The painting shows Jesus, in Renaissance dress, giving a benediction with his raised right hand and crossed fingers while holding a transparent rock crystal orb in his left hand, signaling his role as savior of the world and master of the cosmos, and representing the 'crystalline sphere' of the heavens, as it was perceived during the Renaissance. Around 20 other versions of the work are known, by students and followers of Leonardo. Preparatory chalk and ink drawings of the drapery by Leonardo are held in the Royal Collection. Source

Leonardo da Vinci lived : 15 April 1452 – 2 May 1519

Cesare Borgia, the son of Pope Alexander VI Rodrigo Borgia: 13 September 1475 – 12 March 1507 .... So they are contemporaries and it is possible that Da Vinci could have used Caesar as the model for this painting.

Furthermore :

Cesare Borgia briefly employed Leonardo da Vinci as military architect and engineer between 1502 and 1503. Cesare provided Leonardo with an unlimited pass to inspect and direct all ongoing and planned constructon in his domain. While in Romagna, Leonardo built the canal from Cesena to the Porto Cesenatico. Before meeting Cesare, Leonardo had worked at the Milanese court of Ludovico Sforza for many years, until Louis XII of France drove Sforza out of Italy. After Cesare, Leonardo was unsuccessful in finding another patron in Italy. King Francis I of France was able to convince Leonardo to enter his service, and the last three years of Leonardo's life were spent working in France Source

Many people complain that this is a false image of Jesus and he would have never looked anything like Cesar Borgia ....

Why not ?

The Borgias came to Italy from Spain and it is belived that they were Marrano Jews (Crypto or Converso) and are in fact listed in the Semi-Gotha of 1912 as Jewish Nobility. Semi Gotha

Since they are both known Nobility it is very likely that Cesare Borgia is a distant cousin to Jesus known in Israel at the time as Yeshua ha Notzri ... Notzri/ Netser = Branch i.e: the Branch of David. It is funny then that there are so many Memes on the Internet pointing to the fact that this is a painting of someone who looked nothing like Jesus when it is probable that they are actually from the same Family.

Jerome (c. 347 – 420) linked "Nazarene" to a verse in the Book of Isaiah, claiming that "Nazarene" was the Hebrew reading of a word scholars read as ne·tzer (branch). The text from Isaiah is:

In ancient Hebrew texts, vowels were not indicated, so a wider variety of readings was possible in Jerome's time. Here branch/Nazarene is metaphorically "descendant" (of Jesse, father of King David). Eusebius, a 4th-century Christian polemicist, also argued that Isaiah was the source of "Nazarene." This prophecy by Isaiah was extremely popular in New Testament times and is also referred to in Romans and Revelation. Source
