Jesus said of himself,
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9
"For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." Ephesians 2:8

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
Syncretism is mixing ANYTHING with what Jesus Commanded as though he commanded it, Suggested it or would have tolerated it brought into his WAY TRUTH AND LIFE either from your own deluded imaginative mind or the mythological minds of others.
Even WIKI gets it right.: is the combining of different beliefs, while blending practices of various schools of thought. Syncretism involves the merging or assimilation of several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, thus asserting an underlying unity and allowing for an inclusive approach to other faiths.
Romans 14 is not permission to bring false or inventive practices into the christian faith of JESUS CHRIST. It is rather the tolerance of the sensitivities of the ignorance of new foundlings in Christ before they have a chance to know the truth in all matters. It is not an excuse to welcome in to the WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, death, delusion and and the vain traditions of men.
