The Bangladesh Jewelers Association has decided to reduce the rate of gold at Tk 1,166 per tonne in the country by reducing rates in the world market. In this case, the price of gold of 22 carat will be 48, 989 rupees. New rates will be effective on Wednesday.
Jewelers' Association increased the price of gold on September 11 and raised Tk 50 thousand 155 every month. After about four years, the gold market in the country's market exceeded half a million. Earlier, in January and February, after the two-point increase in rates, the price of gold was reduced by Tk 1.7 billion to 8 May on 8 May. On July 28 and August 13, the gold price was increased to Tk 1,341 and Tk 1,1316 respectively.
According to a press release from the association on Tuesday, the country will sell 22 carat gold of 48 thousand 989 rupees, 21 carats 46 thousand 773 rupees and 18 carat gold at 41 thousand 116 rupees every Wednesday (11.664 grams) across the country. And the traditional method of gold will stand to be 26,244 taka.
According to the association, today, 22 carat gold worth 50 thousand 155 rupees, 21 carats 47 thousand 822 rupees, 18 carats 41 thousand 990 rupees and golden variants of traditional method will be sold at 26 thousand 827. In the 22 carats from tomorrow, 1 thousand 166 rupees, 21 carats will cost Tk 1,50, 18 carats 874 rupees, and traditional gold coins will cost Tk 583. But silver prices remain unchanged. Every rupee silver is sold at Tk. 1,550.
Jewelery businessmen said, 91 per cent of 22 carats per year, 87 per cent in 21 carats and 75 per cent pure gold in 18 carats. Wages and Value Added Tax (VAT) will be added to the gold price to make ornaments.
