Gayo Traditional Horse Racing

Gayo Traditional Race is held 2 (two) times each year in Central Aceh Regency, which is in February to commemorate the anniversary of Takengon City and in September to commemorate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day. In recent years in the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam there has been a division of the regency, namely the Regency Government. Bener Meriah and the Gayo Lues Regency Government, they also held the Gayo Traditional Horse Race competition once a year and the horses from these 3 (three) districts always participated in this event. This horse race in Takengon has been held since the colonial era but after harvesting agricultural products according to its history and strangely, the jockeys are called little jockeys, they still sit in junior high school and when riding the horse are without saddles and these horses are the result of crossing Australian horses and horses Gayo is a small one, namely assistance from the local government, now the gayo horses have started high. Takengon is famous for its agricultural products, namely Gayo coffee which is exported abroad through the battlefield port and the city of Takengon surrounded by hills that are more beautiful and more beautiful with views of the lake, namely Lake Lut Tawar.
