Après dix-sept ans de bons et loyaux services, M. Schmidt abandonne toute fonction opérationnelle chez Google. Nommé en 2001 PDG de ce qui était alors une start-up, il en a fait un groupe, en laissant la bride sur le cou à ses deux cofondateurs.
