The WORST Day Of My Life, I JUST LOST MY JOB

Could this be the worst day of my life? Arriving at the office this morning, doing my routines, updating daily reports, meeting with my subordinates, gave reminders and assignments. After a few hours the human resources called my attention to the corporate office. Arriving at the HR office, the manager told me that I am one of those who will be joining the second wave of retrenchment.
I wasn't expecting it, I was surprised. Although it's a possiblity but as the Branch Head, I thought that I will be spared because I know my position at the office and I had several conversation with the CEO about the future of the company.
I'm worried, really worried, because I'm a family man with 3 kids (all boys) and a wife who always needed my support. I am the only whos working in the family, my wife is taking care of my kids at school.

Their's a saying that "Whenever a door is closed, a new door will be open." I hope that this phrase will work for me, because my feeling right now is like I was shoot in the head. I have not yet received my salaries since April 2017 and then BOOM, I'm retrenched. We could not expect an immediate remuneration from the company because I know from my position that they have nothing to give for now.
My wife asked me, what are we going to do now? I don't know, I could not think properly yet because I'm feeling ill due to the pressures and worries I have in my head. It's like the world is on my shoulder. I hope that this feeling of insecurities will fade soon.
My kids have not come home yet and they have no idea that I am jobless now. I don't know if I'm going to tell them or I'll just have to keep it within myself and my wife. I don't like telling them because I don't want them to suffer, I want that they will just continue what their doing with their lives. There too young yet to be involve in this kind of problem.
Hopefully, if I can land a new job, that's the time that I will tell them that I lost my previous job.
Things will be alright, I know. What I do not know is WHEN. Hope it won't take long because its hard to have an empty table in the dining room.
Due to my disappointment, I invited my wife for a lunch. I admit, I ate a lot during this time, I have to express my discouragement through eating good food.

I know that the economy is going through the beginning of another deflation, probably going to be worst than 2008. But this is just a gradual transition from this system that's broken, non real life (All Life) supporting to sustainable life (All Life).
I don't know how much you liked your job or not but most jobs are slave jobs, basically pick your slavery in order to live and give up your energy and time until your old if you can even afford to retire.
I hope that you got at least a severance package and file unemployment as well and really spend time with your family, don't get desperate and think about trying to do something that is more beneficial for you and family. Money is not everything, just a tool. Time is precious and can never be regained. Hopefully with the unemployment you can pay your bills, if not, if you have really good credit. Apply for no interest for a year or 18 months credit card and hold cash and put bills on credit and just pay the minimum because some bills cannot be paid with credit cards (An option). This option allows more time but it's best to pay all of it back asap to avoid interest charge. If cannot pay back, oooh well, it's just bad credit that can always be rebuilt but you and family survived.

Thanks for this great advice sir. Money is not everything, peace of mind is. But in order to secure peace of mind, we need to secure the source that gives us peace of mind. It could be that I am slave for my job and have no choice but to pick it for the sake of people around me who needs support. I always think that someday I can escape from this slavery but at this moment Im not prepared.

I completely understand but hopefully this could lead to something better for you. As it's said "When one door closes, another one opens" or things that no longer serves you depart to allow another more beneficial thing to arrive. They cannot occupy the same space. Also if you can manage a little time off to be with your family, perhaps that was needed as well as having the time to clear your head and think of something to achieve the freedom or at least make more pleasant.

I understand the pain and frustration. I was laid off 3 months ago and still haven't found the job to support me. Hopefully you will find something better and get a little extra time with the kids in the meantime. I am very sorry for this and you will be in my thoughts while you are looking for your new career. It's a circle of life, and life is a cycle. Feeling down if things won't turn out right is natural but don't let it to pull you down. If you hold the glass of water for a second you can't feel the heaviness of it, but if you keep on holding it for the entire day, then you can feel the burden in your shoulder. Try to put it down, you don't need to hold it for long, coz whatever hard you think of your problem today, it will not be solved it, instead give you sadness and it's still a problem. But when you put down what you hold, you ease the pain and clear mind comes to open, then good things will come to be a solution to your problem. Don't forget to look up high and trust everything above HE will provide, don't worry about the thing.
And by the way, don't worry I will always be there in your back to push you hard so you won't stop running or ill kick your butt! hahaha just cheering you up! When things happen and it seems like the end of the world, it is sometimes nature's way of moving you to the next phase of your life. I understand how you feel, because as a single mother with 2 children to look after on my own, i get those worries too. But, don't let panic get the better of you. Stay calm, stay focused and work out the way forward for you and your family. Never make decisions from a place of fear.
I used to have a very good and well paying job, but i resigned from it sometime ago, because i noticed some issues with my children and decided i had to spend more time with them to ensure they grow up right. Resigning my job meant little to no money, but the difference i have seen in my children and their general well-being, money could never have bought for me. I have no regrets leaving the job. My children come first. We love each other deeply and have learned to be happy, regardless of what my bank balance is.
Please do not worry. Losing a job is not the end of the world... it might just be the beginning of better things for you. Use this time to enjoy your family. Everything will be work out just fine.

Wow I can only imagine the pressure you feel I hope things work out for you. If it is worth anything maybe next time after you have secured a job it cant hurt to continue looking. That is what I did, I almost took a job somewhere else but reversed my decision last minute but that employer left the door open for me in the future. So if something happened I have somewhere to go right away. I guess my point is to have some sort of plan B no matter where you are in life. Best case is to be self employed though!

The same thing happened to my brother less than a week now but he's still a happy man after all. Thank God you have a soulmate who can help you in this situation with comforts and encouragement. Be a man, this is not the end of life but a change of opportunity, at least you're a better person now with more experience in you line of work which will serve as a stepping stone to a better job from now. I'm sorry to hear of your job loss. I lost my own nearly 2 years ago and I was absolutely devastated.
Every closed door is a new opportunity. Today I continue going to school and I'm slowly building value on Steemit as well as working as a stay-at-home dad. I'm hoping to build Steem into a "job" over a reasonable period, but instead of banking on that I'm always knocking on the door to see what opportunity lies on the other side.

My prayers for you my friend, i could feel your pain right now as i have 3 very young kids.
